Jr Flyers, Kevin Charyszyn commits to Air Force

Last month had plenty of commits and nearly 4,000 words, but all in all, the system worked pretty well from our perspective. Here’s where the D1 hockey commitments for the month of October will go. There is one change moving forward: last month a number of commits were apparently misreported or reported early and we eventually picked them up as well. It turned out that they all ended up true (Cakebread to North Dakota, Vannelli to Medicine Hat – a week later, etc), but when we haven’t received information on a commitment personally, we’re going to go out and get that confirmation before it goes here. In retrospect, we should have been doing that for every single commit from the start.

Leading scorer of the U18 Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, 5’10 power forward Kevin Charyszyn has committed to Air Force. Charyszyn’s coach, Bud Dombrowski, noted to us that Kevin is a “terrific kid” and “currently the top goalscorer on our Jr. Flyers U18 team.” Charyszyn technically committed last night, but he falls into the October list because the news broke today – even the Government Shutdown can’t stop coaches from recruiting…
